This grand building, organised around two opposing courtyards, was built in the 14° centuryry the Visconti familyand expanded in the 16° by the Sforzas.
The city's first theatre company performed here in 1598, and Mozart played here as a child. The old theatrewas destroyed by fire in 1776, and replacedby the Teatro della Scala.
Giuseppe Piermarini gave the building its neo-classical look in the 1700s.
Easily attainable from the Hotel Stazione .
To take the meter yellow n. 3 in central station, direction S. Donato,
to go down to the stop Duomo (5 minutes).
